In this video I'll be detailing some of the most important things I did to improve my chess strength from about 2300 to 2400. If you haven't seen my previous videos covering each individual norm, check them out here:
1st Norm - • The First IM Norm: 2014 Spice Cup Open
2nd Norm - • The Second IM Norm: 2015 North Americ...
3rd Norm - • The Final IM Norm: 2016 Saint Louis A...
1) Changed my attitude and started playing for long-term improvement. Inadvertently went from a 'fixed mindset' to a 'growth mindset'
2) Learned new openings, studied new positions, and improved my sense of dynamic play
3) Worked with a strong training partner by playing games, analyzing openings, and solving endgame studies
4) Hired a coach to get over the final hump and earn the last norm
