US officials have communicated with Israeli counterparts to know the specifics about “deeply disturbing” reports of mass graves being found in Gaza, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan has said.

The bodies of at least 310 Palestinians, some of them stripped naked with their hands tied, have reportedly been recovered from one of three mass graves at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza. Palestinian officials also reported finding 30 bodies across two mass graves at al-Shifa Hospital.

Palestinian sources say Israeli troops used bulldozers to bury the corpses at Nasser Hospital, in what they suggested was an attempt to cover up crimes.

The Israeli military rejected these claims as "baseless and unfounded", saying its troops dug up some bodies “in a careful manner” to ensure no hostages were among them, and reburied them following examinations.
