Carol Yancey - 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award

Carol Yancey served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Genuine Parts Company (GPC), a leading global service organization specializing in the distribution of automotive and industrial replacement parts. GPC is a Fortune 200 company with over $23 billion in annual revenues and a vast network of over 10,700 locations spanning 17 countries supported by more than 60,000 teammates.

During her 31 years at GPC, Carol held a variety of key financial positions. She was the first female corporate officer and was the most senior female corporate officer when she retired. As EVP and CFO, Carol served on the company’s Executive Leadership Team, Capital Allocation and Investment Committee and Cyber Security Committee. She was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as the “Public Company CFO of the Year” in 2020.

Carol serves on the boards of directors for BlueLinx Holdings Inc. and Oxford Industries Inc. In addition, she is a director of the Atlanta Area Council-Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Terry College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. She previously served on various boards including the Woodruff Arts Center, Truist Advisory Board, The Salvation Army, Emory Healthcare Advisory Board, and others.

Prior to joining GPC, Carol began her career at Ernst & Young (EY). She served audit clients for six years and left EY as a manager. Carol and her husband, Michael, reside in Atlanta and have three grown children.
