Being a Certified Handyman means nothing without the screening. The UHA started for advocacy but fighting for the rights of the Handyman business only works if the Handyman is a business. Your state doesn't care about you. They want you to be a Licensed Contractor so they will continue to go after the un certified handyman as they see fit. Being Certified should be deserved and earned not paid for. You can call yourself certified by taking a little test and paying for a lifetime membership but without the screening we do, it means nothing and has no long term value and no benefit to your customers.
