This is a video meant to show how a champion responds to adversity. Kobe always stood his ground and never backed down from guys trying to intimidate him, but at the same time he never initiated a fight on the court. If someone started swinging on him he would swing back, but he never would lose his cool when a guy would get in his face or hard foul him. He just stood his ground and showed that he wouldn't back down. He mostly laughed off guys who tried to intimidate him.
He also didn't take things personally like most players would. Even getting called out publicly by his coach, he accepted the criticism and moved on. Winning was most important.
In-game, if a highlight play was made on him, he always had the "the play goes on" mindset, and was able to channel his anger about the play into pure focus on the next plays, rather than just getting mad and starting to play reckless like a lot of guys do.
