It’s almost the holiday season and here is a compilation of some Thanksgiving side dishes and desert options. All we need at this point is the turkey. Save this playlist and grab your shopping lists below.


1. Collard Greens

Ingredients Used
2lbs chopped collard greens
1.5lbs smoked Turkey drum stick
4 cloves garlic
2-3 cups water
1/4 cup chopped yellow onions
1/4 cup chopped green onions (only green part)
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 Tbsp red pepper flakes (to taste)
Salt/ chicken bullion
Creole seasoning


2. Seafood cornbread dressing

Ingredients used

About 6-7 cups of shredded or cubed corn bread (staled overnight or dried in the oven)
12 oz extra small cooked shrimp (salad type)
12 oz crab meat
3 ribs of celery chopped
3-4 cups of shrimp stock (or any flavor)
1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter
1 large yellow onion chopped
1 large green bell pepper chopped
1 small red bell pepper chopped
4 cloves fresh garlic (crushed)
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp sage
1 Tbsp better than bullion paste (chicken)
1 10oz can Cream of mushroom
2 eggs @ room temperature
Some butter to grease the baking dish
Black pepper to taste
salt to taste

Sauté the veggies first and add it to the cornbread as demonstrated in the video. Add the cream of mushroom and adjust all spices before adding the eggs. Pour into a prepared 9x13 baking pan, cover with aluminum foil and bake @ 350F for 50-60 minutes.


3. Corn pudding/ casserole

Ingredients Used

1 pk Jiffy Corn muffin mix
1 15oz whole kernel corn (drained)
1 15oz can cream style corn
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 stick melted unsalted butter
2 eggs @ room temp

Mix all the ingredients and bake in a greased 9x13 pan for 40-45 minutes. Allow to cool and set for 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy.


4. Green bean casserole

Ingredients Used

2 (15oz) cans of cut green beans
1 (10oz) can Cream of mushroom
3/4 cup of milk
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 crushed small garlic cloves (about 1/2 tsp) or 1 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce/ soy sauce
Black pepper to taste
1 (6oz) pk French’s fried onions


5. No bake Banana Pudding

Ingredients used

6 ripe bananas ( can use 6-8 depending on hour choice)
2 cups of cold milk
8 oz cream cheese (@ room temperature)
2 pks of Chessmen Shortbread cookies (can use up to 3)
1 pack (5oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
12 oz cool whip / homemade whipped cream
1 can (15oz) sweetened condensed milk


6. Pumpkin cheesecake

Ingredients Used

1 (9”) graham cracker pie crust
2 (8oz) blocks of cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup pure pumpkin purée (not the pie mix)
2 eggs @ room temp
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves

Place the pie dish in a larger baking dish with some water to provide a water bath, this keeps the cheesecake moist and crack-free! Bake @325 F for 35-40 minutes. Allow to cool down completely and refrigerator to set completely! Enjoy!
