NFL free agency has been going on for almost two weeks now, and the Cowboys have made just one move apart from re-signing some of their own players. They brought in veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks. It looks like they're planning to fill most of their gaps in the roster through the draft.

But here's the catch: the Cowboys only have eight draft picks, and only three of them are in the top 100. They need new starters in several positions like running back, receiver, offensive line, defensive tackle, linebacker, and cornerback.

Some current players might step up, but they'll need help from rookies right away. So, what's their plan?

In this pretend scenario, the Cowboys use their first pick to get Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton. Even though he played right tackle in college, experts think he can switch to the left side in the NFL. In the second round, they pick T’Vondre Sweat, a big guy for the defensive line, adding more power alongside Mazi Smith.

Then, in the third round, they grab Trey Benson, a speedy running back from Florida State, to lead their offense. In the fifth round, they go for Tanor Bortolini, a talented center who impressed at the NFL Combine. He'll bring some competition to the position.

Their last three picks are Joshua Cephus, a solid receiver from UTSA, Curtis Jacobs, a promising linebacker with athleticism, and Eyabi Okie-Anoma, a strong edge defender known for his run-stopping skills.
