In Amazon Music’s series First Words, Lewis Capaldi shares the stories behind writing two of his most personal songs: “Before You Go” from his 2019 debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, and “How I’m Feeling Now” from his 2023 sophomore album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent. Lewis reflects on his journey as a songwriter, from penning his first lyrics when he was 10 to the process of writing these two songs - and the personal stories that inspired them. Lewis also speaks about his evolution as a songwriter over the past four years, reflecting on his growth between the two songs’ releases.
