If you're looking for a quick and easy recipe to enjoy, why not try making some pita bread and hummus? 🤤
Garbanzo beans (also known as Chickpeas) are a great source of protein and healthy fats, which can help to keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer periods. 😉
Here's a simple recipe to try:
Pita Bread🥙:
Ingredients
1 tsp dried instant yeast
280 g water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp olive oil
500 g bread flour
1 tsp salt
Preparation
1. Place yeast, water and sugar into mixing bowl and warm 30 sec/37°C/speed 2.
2. Add oil, flour and salt and knead Dough mode/3 min. Transfer dough into a
bowl, cover with cling wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size
(approx. 1 hr.). Divide dough into 8-10 pieces, form each into a ball and allow
to rest for 15 minutes. Roll out each ball with a rolling pin into a flat circle
(approx. 12 cm.) and allow to rest for a further 15 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, preheat oven and baking sheet to 250°C.
4. Place 2-4 dough circles onto preheated baking sheet and bake for 4-5
minutes (250°C) until puffed up or light golden. Repeat with remaining dough.
Transfer hot pita breads onto a plate and cover immediately with a dry kitchen
towel to keep them soft. Allow to cool before serving.
Hummus🥣
Ingredients:
2 garlic cloves
500 g garbanzo beans (approx. 2 cans), drained (see Tip)
50 g tahini
25 g olive oil, plus extra to drizzle
20-30 g freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp sweet paprika, to taste, plus extra
to sprinkle
1 tsp salt, to taste
80 g ice cubes
cayenne pepper, to sprinkle
Preparation
1. Place garlic into mixing bowl and chop 5 sec/speed 7.
2. Add garbanzo beans, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, salt and ice
cubes and mix 1 min/speed 4.
3. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with cayenne pepper and paprika and serve.
TIP
⭐️Reserve drained garbanzo bean liquid (aquafaba) for use in Gluten Free
Dinner Rolls.
⭐️ Serve hummus as an appetizer and dip with pita bread or as an
accompaniment to falafel, grilled eggplant, fish or chicken.
