If you are looking for things to do or things to see in Southport then hopefully this walking tour helps.

It was a lovely day in Southport when we visited.

This Merseyside seaside holiday destination is so beautiful and whether it's a weekend away or a full holiday it has so much to offer, whether it's wandering up and down Lord Street or shopping in Wayfarers Arcade, or strolling along Southport Pier.

In this video we visit Wesley Street (a very instagrammable street!) and we walk along the high street and shopping streets, past Southport Railway Station, up onto Lord Street where we head to Christ Church, Southport Town Hall, The Atkinson building and across the street to Scarisbrick Hotel.

On that section we stop off to have a chat and a cup of tea with the lovely people of Christ Church Southport - lovely people doing brilliant work and being the true heart of Southport. Please check out their website here 👉🏻 http://christchurchsouthport.org.uk/

From there we head to Wayfarers Arcade for a look inside this beautiful shopping centre, before continuing along Lord Street to Nevill Street and a look at Rossi's Ice Creams, and then up past the Queen Victoria Statue and onto Southport Promenade.

We then cross Promenade and head onto Southport Pier, past Silcocks Funland, Marine Lake Cafe and Bar, and overlook Southport Marine Lake Bird Feeding Area.

As we go along Southport Pier we pass Southport Skatepark, Marine Parade, the miniature railway and Tenpin Southport.

We finish by crossing over Marine Drive and looking out to Blackpool where we can see Blackpool Tower and the Blackpool Pleasurebeach.

I find Southport a really fantastic holiday seaside town. I'll definitely be back for another walking tour soon.

Southport is a large seaside town in Merseyside, England. Southport is situated on the Sefton coast and is easy to reach from all over the North West. Trying the exciting water sports or the thrills of a funfair, exhilarating for all of the family or a more active day riding a bike down the promenade, exploring nature reserves and enjoying some of the best walking and cycling routes.

Boasting a beautiful and expansive coastline, Southport is surrounded by natural beauty, making it a great place to escape. Starting your journey along the coast, at Crosby beach you can experience the Anthony Gormley 'Another Place' art installation, 100 iron men standing proudly looking out to sea, which at various points throughout the day can be seen in very different ways, giving you a different experience every time.

Heading to Formby beach, you climb through the natural dunes until you come to the most beautiful and expansive view of the coast before your eyes. Moving towards Southport, Ainsdale beach is a haven of things to do where you can kite surf, para cart and enjoy other beach attractions and activities - perfect for active families.

Once in Southport you can leave the town behind and head to Southport beach, build sandcastles or wander down the pier and enjoy the beautiful coastal views, we are sure you won't be disappointed!
