One of the greatest barriers to overcome in EJ conversations is learning how to effectively communicate nuanced issues to any audience: the public, politicians, corporate actors, and academics. In connection with Intersectional Environmentalist, The Uproot Project, and the People's Climate Innovation Center, this day-long event series explores that intersection; how does one become an effective communicator? What are the modes available to young people to affect change through their voices and diverse media?

This workshop, Justice-Based Communications for Strategic Movement Building with the People's Climate Innovation Center was a storytelling, language, and movement-building workshop led by Radiah Shabazz, Communications Director for the People's Climate Innovation Center.

The Duke Human Rights Center at FHI, the Dewitt Wallace Center for Media and Democracy, and the EJ Oral History Project at Duke hosted the Environmental Justice Storytelling for Impact Summit in the Fuqua School of Business's Geneen Auditorium.
