Starting your own business is a key part of the American Dream. Small businesses inspire innovation, grow the economy, and create meaningful job opportunities. As we work to regain our financial footing after the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening our small businesses will make our economy stronger.

Minority and women-owned businesses were hit especially hard during the pandemic, and we witnessed the barriers and challenges that commonly exist, especially in the financial marketplace. While fair and equitable access to credit is protected through our fair lending laws, we need more data and information to better understand the small business-lending landscape.
