INGREDIENTS:
1 tsp salt
2 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
½ cup granulated sugar
3 tbsp blood orange juice
Zest of 2 blood oranges, finely grated
Zest of 1 lemon, finely grated
½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare two baking sheets with a piece of parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk flour, salt and rosemary together.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine sugar, blood orange juice and both citrus zests by whisk until combined.

Add butter and beat until well combined. Add vanilla extract. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Drop dough onto a floured surface. You may need to turn the dough a couple of times by hand in case it isn’t fully incorporated by mixer.
Roll out dough to about ½ an inch thick.

Using the direwolf template, trace onto parchment paper and cut out.
Lie stencil on top of dough, and cut around it with a knife. Place direwolf shaped short breads onto the parchment lined baking sheet. Score the dough with a knife, and use a fork to give the shortbread the wolf-like texture. Repeat 6-8 until all the dough is cut out.

Bake for 20 minutes or until the edges of the direwolf are golden brown.
