I had the honor of being given a chance to step into the world of film choreography, and I'm grateful to the amazing team for believing in me. It all started with a phone call from Matt Alvarez at Ice Cube in their office, inviting me for an interview. Little did I know, this opportunity would become a crash course in the art of choreographing for the silver screen.

Working closely with the brilliant director, Brian Levant, was an absolute joy. His genius and guidance allowed me to learn invaluable lessons throughout the process. One of the highlights was creating a piece to the iconic song "Respect" by the legendary Aretha Franklin. Alicia Allen, a true talent, delivered a breathtaking solo, and I had the challenge of incorporating the audience, Ice Cube, and the entire cast into the routine. Collaborating with Brian to capture the perfect shots was a thrilling experience.

As the project unfolded, I quickly realized the importance of designing choreography specifically for the camera. Initially, my focus was on scene work with the actors, but I soon discovered the magic that happens when dance and camera angles merge seamlessly. It was an "aha" moment when I presented one of the shots to Brian, and I saw his excitement mirrored in his eyes.

This film taught me so much about the art of choreography in the context of cinema. I'm immensely grateful for the opportunity and the incredible people I had the pleasure of working with.
