We're limewashing our brick home and our trees! We're almost done with the front of our house and we couldn't be happier with it.
Next up is the landscape lighting and the sides of our house. Follow us on this journey to see if the end results live up to the hype!

For those who are unfamiliar with the practice of limewashing trees: Limewash /whitewash is an old and very good agricultural practice to protect the trees from sun burn and sun scalding, certain insects and wood boring pests. Any fruit-bearing or ornamental tree will benefit greatly from limewash. It might look a bit weird for those who are not used to it, but it gives the trees a healthier leg up and it’s a very common practice in islands, Mediterranean and Aegean coastal regions, Eastern European countries, and central Asian countries because of its benefits πŸ™Œ
If you want to give it a try make sure you use only limewash or interior latex paint in a 1:1 ratio with water. Never use oil based paints (including spray paint) and exterior latex paints as they can hurt the trees.
