On average, our highest earning drivers cancel a very small percentage of rides they accept. But, sometimes the safest option is to cancel a ride.

To cancel a Lyft ride, follow the steps shown in this video.

Cancellations are here for when things don’t go as planned, like an emergency or safety concern.

Some reasons to cancel:
- Your passenger makes you feel uncomfortable
- Your passenger is an unaccompanied minor (17 & under)
- Your passenger has a child with them, but no car seat
- There aren’t enough seat belts for each passenger
- You can’t safely pick up the rider
- You have a personal emergency
