The Elkhorn Forest is described in the oldest folklore from the Elkhorn region in the lost Lost Lands of Nebraska beyond the Endless Corn Field where forests are common but there is nothing common about this forest. This forest represents places unknown and situations of liminality and lucidity. The forest can feature a place of threatening danger, or one of refuge, or a chance at adventure.
