This was an amazing game played at the 2023 World Computer Chess Championship held in Valencia, Spain. The two players are Fritz, the flagship of Chessbase, and Stoofvlees, a neural network in the vein of AlphaZero by Deepmind. They both are running on incredibly powerful hardware. In this video I analyze the game and rook sacrifice in detail, sharing the many fascinating variations. The operators at the vent were kind enough to share the actual game logs so I am able to compare evaluations and times per move.
