First we'll start with the automatic transmission which is new to the Tacoma. We'll discuss the main differences from this transmission to previous Tacoma transmissions. Things like the Driving response and acceleration management system, The coast control and the AI control.

This transmission is often criticized for the way it shifts. Hearing folks concerns about this transmission brings back memories of when the U760 and U660 transmission came out as that has similar technology to the tacoma's 6 speed. I hope when you hear why this transmission shifts the way it does you'll get a better understanding of my reply to you when you ask about it's reliability. It is very important to understand the difference between an annoying normal characteristic of a transmission and an actual problem with it.

Also in this video we'll briefly touch base on the all new and exclusive 6 speed transmission the RC62F.

Lastly We'll take the Tacoma for another test drive and I'll show you how the AI control can be annoying when it predicts your driving pattern and constantly shifts up and down.
