This weekend we went to explore the city of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Originally we wanted to go Den Bosch, but there was a street festival going on there called "Carnival". Since Gijs and I are not big fan of crowds and parties, we decided to change plans and go Nijmegen instead, which, turned out to be a great choice! Driving through Netherland's most dangerous roundabout, the Keizer Karelplein. We walked through Nijmegen Centrum and explored all the touristic and historical sites, which includes The Lange Hezelstraat, St. Stephen's Church, Grote Markt, Kerkboog, Valkhof Park, Barbarossa Ruine, St. Nicholas Chapel, Kronenburgerpark, Kruittoren. Had lunch at Anne & Max, and snacked on bitterballen at Cafe de Deut. It was also Gijs' mom's birthday, so we went to get some pastries, worstenbroodjes and onion soups as Twins Bakery in Eersel, as well as flowers from Oogenlust. They sell more than just flowers, including home decors, books, plants and more. The entire store was like an art gallery!
