Software engineering interviews are hard. You can spend months studying just to get a rejection email and no explanation on what you did wrong! Interviews are way more complex than just solving the problem, and variables such as getting a fair interviewer, getting a similar problem you've seen before, luck, etc can play a role in whether or not you get the job.
