He racked up ten Pro Bowls in his decade-spanning career, as well multiple Defensive Player of the Year honors en route to four Super Bowl victories in the 1970s. Beyond his individual accolades though, he brought a culture of toughness and physicality to Pittsburgh football, which has lasted long after his retirement, transforming the once pitiful organization into the legendary franchise that it is today.
