The Delaware Limited Liability Company Act was passed in 1993 and made Delaware the new gold standard for LLC laws. In 2018 alone, there were more than 150,000 new LLCs formed in Delaware.

Part of operating an LLC involves maintaining an operating agreement, also known as a company agreement. While not required to be in writing, most LLCs choose to create a formal document to lay out the ownership, decision-making, and other stipulations of the company and its members.

In this webinar, Harvard Business Services President Mike Bell discusses several aspects of the LLC operating agreement, including:
- How it is created for a new company
- How it is updated when changes in the company occur
- What is typically included in the document
- How the document differs depending on the structure of the LLC

We also provide some examples of how certain items may be addressed in an operating agreement, as well as several templates to help you get started.
