The 3-5-2 system allows the coach to play with two strikers (numbers 9 and 11), two wingers (numbers 7 and 3), one halfback (number 4) and two midfielders (numbers 8 and 10). Some coaches call this system “5-3-2”, but the logic behind it is the same.

In the past the coach used only the cones, but thanks to the “opponent team” analyst, now the coach can use other teammates to simulate the key movements performed by the opponents during the previous matches.

In this video the movements performed by the opponents have been selected in order to simplify the understanding.

Coaches could use this analytic approach in order to train the defensive phase and these exercises can also be tested during the pre-season phase.

In this video the ball helps us to simulate these exercises, but generally the coach suggests to the team which opponents or cones must be pressed, therefore the ball is not useful in these exercises.

However in order to simulate particular cases the coach could use the ball, for example when an opposing midfielder performs a dribbling and runs towards our central defenders.
