Out herping for snakes, and I find (among others) a Northern Brown Snake. These snakes are pretty friendly and inquisitive, but many people always fear their tongue. Why snakes stick their tongues out is often a question I am asked and many people seem frightened about it and fear it as an act of aggression or that their tongue is poisonous or venomous.
