One of the bigger upgrades for the next generation of apple silicon with the M2 chip is a big boost to GPU capabilities with the M2 chip sporting 2 extra GPU cores for a total of a 10 core GPU which Apple says can give it up to a 35% performance boost. While the M1 already had a pretty decent GPU for integrated graphics, the M2 should have even better gaming capabilities and Apple seems to be leaning into gaming with them developing custom APIs. And Apple could dominate gaming with all of their hardware now working on Apple silicon, however, is Apple's new M2 chip for the task of gaming today, or is this a dream... or perhaps a hope for the future of Mac gaming?
