Assets are resources which deliver economic value, either currently or in the future. They can be current (liquid and easily convertible into cash) or non-current (converting them into cash requires time, effort and fees).

Another important distinction is between tangible and intangible assets. The first being physical and the second bodiless. Intangible assets can contribute massively to the growth of a company, as they are part of the brand recognition.
