White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt warned on the sixth day of the government shutdown that federal workers would not receive their next full paycheck if Democrats did not vote to open the government by Monday night.

Senators will reconvene at 3 p.m. at the Capitol after a vote to advance a Republican short-term funding bill failed on Friday to get the necessary 60 votes to end a filibuster in the 100-member chamber.

"Millions of American federal workers are under enormous financial stress as a result, wondering how they will pay their bills and take care of their families. If the Democrats do not vote to open the government tonight, federal workers will not receive their next full paycheck," Leavitt told reporters.
