In this video I am making Nepetalactone, a natural component of the catnip plant and some other plants. First I try to extract out Nepetalactones from dried catnip via a soxhlet extraction, but I was unsuccessfull in separating out the nepetalactones. So instead, I found a paper which makes it synthetically and I follow that completely. In the end, cats test it out.
