Hello Everyone. I am getting back into making videos and today I am modding my larkbox pro to replace the thermal pad with a custom copper spacer. I got the copper from an old projector heatsink I had laying around. The larkbox has a really well designed cooler but it is half a millimeter too small and doesn't properly fit some may say, that's why they use a thermal pad... well after testing some might come to a new conclusion. The main draw back with this PC is that the fan turns on around 55 Celsius and only stay on for a short amount of time before turning off. This makes it quite noticeable and rather annoying. My hypothesis going into this video is maybe replacing the thermal pad with a copper spacer and proper thermal paste may yield better results, and all things considered it does improve the thermals greatly. But is it enough to avoid the fans from this annoying on and off cycle? watch and find out!
