Pete from Belgrave South was rapidly running out of parking space so the decision was made to level some underutilised ground for a new parking area, he knew that there was some Granite around, but this this huge piece could not have been is a worse place. 😢 The 12 Tonne excavator that cut the site came prepared with a hydraulic breaker, the operator gave it his best shot but the breaker did not prevail. Demolition Dave summoned to provide a quick and appropriate solution, some care was required as this rock was only 4 Meters from the house at the closest point. The maximum vibration levels were were designed to be below the 10mm/S PPV Australian Standard level and no amount of flying rock or loud bangs would be acceptable. All blasts were measured @ below 7mm/s PPV and the generous amount of soft fill cover and blast mats kept it all under control. Another rock problem solved safely and cost effectively without any complaints from the neighbours.
