Kerry are then likely to miss out, even if they beat a Galway team who are looking over their shoulder, but Eamon doesn't expect Jack O'Connor to take it handy - even if a final would upset their warm weather training plans somewhat.

In hurling, Shane reckons Limerick and Kilkenny will have a good cut off each other in Cork, as John Kiely and the All-Ireland champions look to leave the Kyle Hayes sentencing saga behind them - Shane does not expect the debate and conjecture over Hayes' conviction to have any impact on the team's plans.

In Portlaoise Shane expects to see something of a phoney war, as Munster rivals Clare and Tipp face off in the other semi-final, weeks before the start of the provincial championship.
