One film in a series. Released on Blu-Ray in 2023 to generate donations for preservation efforts.

Filmed in May 2022 at the Lenoir County Historical Association’s Harmony Hall in Kinston, N.C.

Philip Gerard, was a journalist, editor, and professor of creative writing at UNC-Wilmington. He authored a number of books, including "The Last Battleground: The Civil War Comes to North Carolina" and "Down the Wild Cape Fear."

Philip also penned a series of articles on the Civil War in North Carolina for Our State magazine.

He died on November 7, 2022, at the age of 67.
