Almost done!!
The project to restore this 1963 (August 26 build) Series 1 E Type Jaguar FHC to it's original color, or colour for my British and Aussie friends, is almost done. The car was silver with a red interior when I bought it, but Jaguar Heritage said it was claret with beige. In the mechanical restoration phase I found that to be true. Now after driving it for 12 or so years in silver, it will be back to the original factory colors. Claret was only offered as a standard colour from 1961-2. According to Clausager (former archivist at Jaguar, so speaking with some authority), only 4 cars were painted in this colour. Ultra rare.
