There is a drain around the perimeter of my basement. A French drain? What I want to do is insulate the walls with 2” rigid foam and then do my framing. But what do I do? Do I bring the rigid foam down to the top of the drain, therefore covering it? And then bring the 1” rigid foam that I want to use to cover the floor right up to the 2” rigid foam and then apply a vapor barrier. Then do framing? OR do I do the framing up against the 2” foam and then put down the 1” foam and then a vapor barrier?
WHAT DO I DO? Please let me know in the comments. Give me your ideas, opinions, and any personal experiences you have had on this subject. Thanks for the input.
