Brett Hull scored 844 NHL Goals: Regular Season (741) Playoffs (103).

He was the son of Bobby Hull, the “Golden Jet,” one of hockey’s most iconic legends. But, as a young player, the overweight and unmotivated Brett Hull was not considered to be a pro prospect, let alone someone who could approach his father’s prodigious legacy.

In fact, Brett was passed over in junior hockey drafts and was ignored in two NHL drafts before finally being chosen in the late rounds in 1984.

But by decade’s end he was the NHL’s premier goal scorer and would ultimately record an incredible 86 goals in a single season.By the time he finished his hall of fame career, he had scored 844 NHL goals, won two Stanley Cups and had far surpassed BOBBY hull’s NHL scoring records.

Let’s take a close look at the career of Brett Hull. How did the self-described lazy, pudgy and unwanted kid join his father in the pantheon of the greatest players in NHL history.
