Torque wrench accuracy is very important and having an accurate tool is vital. This video will show you how to test and adjust yours.

Note on the weight test: when I introduced the wrench it added 4 ounces on to the test weight which brought the total test setting on the torque wrench to 42.85 ft.lbs. instead of 42.5 ft.lbs. Because I got it to click above 42.5 and below 43, I didn't feel the slight change in test weight was worth redoing the test in the video. The variance is 0.8%, so not significant enough for me to adjust. Cheers.
