There's actually a coincidental connection between this episode of Grand Adventure and our most recent travel episode from Silver City, New Mexico    • Ep. 223: Silver City, New Mexico | Pi...  , but it was here in Lincoln County that famed western outlaw Billy The Kid's life of crime blossomed, and suddenly ended with his reported death at the hands of the famed Sheriff Pat Garrett at the young age of 21. In this episode, while camping in Ruidoso (and being visited in camp by a herd of wild horses) we're going to follow in Billy's footsteps, visiting the scene of some of his most memorable moments in the quaint western town of Lincoln, including his participation in the Lincoln County War with the Regulators and jail break from the courthouse, as well as historic Fort Stanton and elsewhere in Lincoln County, New Mexico. While in the region we'll also get to meet Smokey Bear in person, hike in the Sierra Blanca Mountains to Monjeau Lookout, and marvel at the beauty of St. Joseph Apache Mission in Mescalero.
