Our second day in Kosciuszko National Park began at our gorgeous campsite at Tom Groggin Campground. We ate pancakes and watched the kangaroos.
We drove North to Thredbo Ski Resort, expecting it to be very quiet considering it was the middle of summer (off-peak). To our surprise, there were people everywhere, most with mountain bikes! It was still good to see the Thredbo village, nestled into the mountain.
Next stop was Bullocks Flat, home to the Skitube. We learnt that the Skitube is a train which takes passengers from Bullocks Flat all the way up to Perisher Ski Resort in under 10 minutes (during the winter). It travels through a 6.3km long tunnel through the mountains. Pretty cool!
Afterwards, we drove through Jindabyne and Perisher Village on the way up to Charlotte Pass where we stayed the night. The only reason we booked accomodation here was to shower and have a room we could organise and pack for our 5 day hike through Kosciuszko National Park.
We then run through with you guys how we prep for the hike!
