California Vehicle Code 23110 VC, sometimes just written as VC 23110, or 23110 VC, is the statute that makes it illegal to throw an object at a motor vehicle that is driving on a public road in California.

23110 VC is a wobbler, meaning it can be charged as either a felony or a misdemeanor, depending on the severity of the case. This makes it a serious crime with the possibility of a sentence which includes time in state prison.

However there are 5 main defenses to 23110 VC, that a skilled and experienced criminal defense attorney can use to help fight charges of throwing an object at a motor vehicle in California:

1. You didn't intend to throw an object at a motor vehicle, such as accidentally dropping a water bottle off of a freeway overpass

2. Someone else threw the object but you got blamed for it due to false accusations or misidentification

3. You had no intent to cause serious bodily injury

4. The vehicle was not on a public road

and 5. The police committed misconduct, such as an illegal search, or coercing a confession by means of physical force or intimidation
