IT'S MAKE OR BREAK: A "POINT BREAK" 25 YR. RETROSPECTIVE
(2006 / Fox / 23 mins. total)
From director Kathryn Bigelow (THE HURT LOCKER, ZERO DARK THIRTY), 1991's POINT BREAK - with it's plot of an undercover FBI agent out to nab bank robber / surfers, seemed at first to some the worst of "high concept" cinematic jokes. But it's Zen-like spirituality (along with crackerjack still-imitated action sequences) would go on to make it one of the most lauded films of the decade. 25yrs. later, new reminiscences and archival interviews (featuring the late Patrick Swayze; with Keanu Reeves, Gary Busey, Lori Petty, John C. McGinley; director Bigelow, writers Rick King & W. Peter Iliff, producers, stunt personnel and more) combine for a fast and fascinating look back at the filmic experience which would make the phrase "100% pure adrenaline!" forever an indelible part of the pop culture zeitgeist.
