In chapter 3 of the intensely sordid story, the cethalopod and his tortured life are still in jeopardy of that son-of-a-bitch Spingebill. So the squid decides to dispose of him in the most intensive and most dangerous way: Giving him a pie bomb. Its mass hysteria from down forwards.
