Tesla has made the decision to no longer include the mobile connector with the purchase of a new Tesla. This sudden unexpected change comes at the heels of numerous price increases and cited as a response to "Usage statistics were super low, so seemed wasteful. On the (minor) plus side, we will be including more plug adapters with the mobile connector kit."

Although Elon Musks tweet may seem to be a head scratcher to many, there are some coming quick to the defense of this decision by Tesla. Although many are coming from a position of having more than 1 Tesla, and may not be new to the EV world, there seems to be a tone deaf message being circulated.

Given Tesla has increased prices well over $10,000 in the last year, excluding the mobile connector moving forward feels like a decision that was not well thought out. Even if you wanted to order a mobile connector, of course it is sold out, meaning you don't have an option after taking delivery of your new, $47 Tesla.

Although I sincerely hope Tesla reverses this senseless move, if they do not, I will be doing my part by sending a new Tesla Owner that does not receive a mobile connect a new one out of my pocket. This is not a raffle or sweepstake, I will provide more details soon after Tesla has made it clear to move forward with this decision or has reversed.
