World Press Freedom Day: Zambian journalist speaks on profession and climate change

As the international community prepares for World Press Freedom Day on May 3, Zambian journalists say they are happy that this year’s commemorations will focus on their profession “in the face of the environmental focus.”

VOA Africa spoke to Kathy Short, a journalist in Zambia, who said she will use this year’s Press Freedom Day to spotlight the record drought which has struck southern Africa, her nation included, pushing regional leaders to declare national disasters and a state of emergency.
