Learn Ʌ/ vs /ɒ/ vs /Ə/. In this video I give you a simple exercise to learn the /Ʌ/ sound, the /ɒ/ sound and the /Ə/ sound.

The Schwa sound is the most common vowel sound in English. But because most people are never taught it in language schools, they confuse it with other vowel sounds.

That’s why it’s so important to learn the sound and how it compares to other English vowels. The key to getting all the English vowel sounds correct is to know where to put your lips. In this video I take you through the one simple exercise that will train your lips to get comfortable moving between the 3 different sounds: Ʌ/, /ɒ/, /Ə/

In the video, I start off by showing you where to put your lips to correctly pronounce each sound I then show you the exercise that teaches you to correctly move between each of the three sounds. Then I put the sound next to some English consonants to show you what it sounds like when the vowel sound is paired up with other sounds in English finally I give you a couple of examples of how this sound sounds in three words, so you can hear the difference between all three.

If you put this exercise into practice it’s a very effective exercise and will really help you to improve the clarity of your English speech.
