Like many of us, mountain gorillas are happy to spend most of their days relaxing, but this doesn’t stop their inquisitive and youthful nature. Gorillas are extremely sociable animals and live as families in a Harem, which consists of a father, several caring mothers and even more babies.

In this gorilla family, living in Uganda, there are 13 members and each plays an important role, especially the group’s elder Rukumu. Although by human standards, the age 30 is far from old, Rukumu oversees the group and is in his early 30s. He was presumably the dominant silverback back in his prime but now enjoys his peaceful gorilla retirement by playing with the younger ones and teaching them the fundamentals of chest-beating.
