Richard helped a homeowner convert her claw-foot bathtub into a shower by installing a new spout, riser and showerhead that come together in a kit. The kit also includes a ring for a shower curtain. After removing the old tub faucet, Richard installed a new one using plumber's putty for a watertight seal. Next, he attached the riser for the showerhead, using Teflon tape for the threaded connections. With the riser and showerhead mounted to the tub, Richard secured the riser to the wall using a support that was included with the kit. Before he could mount the shower curtain ring, Richard used a tubing cutter to make it shorter so that it would fit underneath a slanted ceiling directly above the tub.
