We had another scary incident this past Saturday when Rockies Pitcher Ryan Feltner would take a line drive to the head. This has happened a couple times already this season, as recent as about a week ago when Royals Ryan Yarbrough would get Mid April, Gus Varland took a 105.1 MPH line drive off the bat of Manny Machado. Before that Gus Varland would take a comebacker to the head, but fortunately his x-rays would be negative and he would be ok. MLB introduced head gear back in 2016, but based on the comfort and look, pitches have elected to not wear them due to the low chances of come back line drives occurring.
