In recent years global sales of plant-based milk and dairy-free cultured products such as yogurt and cheese have grown rapidly with Kantar World panel revealing that one in three shoppers buy into dairy-free in Britain [1]. Despite this over 95,000 male calves are shot each year as a useless by product of the UK dairy industry and issue that animal welfare charity Viva! is raising awareness of in its new campaign, Trash.
