I like using this technique because the quality of the final video is far better than any other approach. That's because you are leveraging a professional video editing program AND the skills of a professional motion graphics artists and it costs as little as $5.

I could use Animoto to create these videos. However I tend to find that Animoto videos look and feel like slide shows. They are very 2D and lack the professional edge that you can get with a professional software and a professionally designed template. And you still need to create a promo video from scratch which takes time and planning.
